Mapping Africa’s geospatial future: a digital publishing platform for geospatial news, articles and industry insight, with a headless CMS behind it.

Afrospatial is a digital magazine for the geospatial industry in Africa: long-form articles, daily news, magazine issues, events, videos, podcasts and a tiered member directory.

The platform is an Nx monorepo with an Angular 21 server-rendered frontend and a Strapi 5 headless CMS sharing one set of TypeScript interfaces. It deploys to a single VPS behind Traefik with automatic TLS and health-checked, zero-downtime rollouts from GitHub Actions. Scheduled Python agents scrape industry sources overnight and push summarised news into the CMS.

The architecture is written up in a three-part series in the Journal: the monorepo, the deploy pipeline and the content model.
